Becky bought me a 2012 planner for my birthday because she knows how my mind works. Becky has always been the best at buying me presents, probably because she’s such a good listener. I think that too often we go out and buy presents based on what we think a person might like, combined with the prior knowledge of what we actually like. But it’s important to think entirely about the person you’re shopping for, and then to get advice and reviews on a product. Becky knew that I was a planning person and that my life was kind of a mess when I didn’t stop to put things in a date book. She noticed that two years ago, I had a great planner that was a perfect size so I didn’t mind taking it everywhere, but that this year, my planner was too big so I fell behind on updating it. She went back to my roots and got me a smaller one that’s nicely bound. I’m so grateful for it.
