It is an annual occurrence to receive letters and messages about my grandma, who has had a significant positive impact on the aquaponics gardening association over the past 20 years. She was born in New Jersey, and found that growing plants was difficult there. The biggest obstacle, according to her, is that there is such a limited amount of space to plant and grow vegetables and other crops in, so she decided to take it upon herself to develop indoor aquaponics systems to overcome this disadvantage. She has always said that keeping the fish tank and piping from springing leaks was her biggest challenge, and that she learned how to set up a plastic liner and sump pump to transfer any leakage back into the system automatically. She is very well known in several boroughs in New Jersey and New York, and is primed to write a book about her life in the near future.
